Cup of Joe sets new chart history with Multo

Cup of Joe’s widely acclaimed track ‘Multo’ has officially claimed the No. 1 spot on Apple Music Philippines’ Top OPM Songs of 2025, marking a significant moment in the band’s musical career. According to a report released by All Charts PH on the social media platform X, the song secured the highest rank among this year’s OPM releases. Dionela’s ‘Marilag’ followed in second place, with Maki’s ‘Dilaw’ in third. ‘Sining’, performed by Dionela featuring Jay R, landed in fourth place, while Earl Agustin’s ‘Tibok’ secured the fifth position.

Cup of Joe recently staged two large-scale concerts titled ‘Stardust’ on 10 and 11 October at the Big Dome. Earlier in February, they held another two-day show titled ‘Silakbo’ at the same venue. Their debut studio album ‘Silakbo’, released in January this year, marked a pivotal chapter in their artistic journey.

In an earlier interview with ABS-CBN News, vocalist Raphaell Ridao explained that the band wished to create something different for their first major album. While their previous songs were upbeat and energetic, this album was intentionally crafted to be more emotional and raw. He added that the songs reflect their shared experiences and the collective expression of their personal and musical journey.

Containing ten tracks, the album features the standout hit ‘Multo’. In an interview with pikapika.ph, the band discussed why the song resonated so deeply with listeners. Vocalist Gian Bernardino noted that the track encapsulates sentiments of yearning and regret, which many people easily relate to. Guitarist Gabriel Fernandez added that the song can be interpreted in multiple ways, allowing listeners with different backgrounds to find their own meaning within its lyrics, thus strengthening its impact.
