US Commercial Counselor Meets FBCCI Administrator

Paul G. Frost, the US Commercial Counselor in Dhaka, met today with Md. Hafizur Rahman, Administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).

The meeting took place at the FBCCI office in Motijheel, Dhaka, where both sides discussed matters related to enhancing bilateral trade, market expansion, and fostering mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States.

 

At the start of the meeting, Md. Hafizur Rahman highlighted the longstanding trade relations between the two countries. He emphasised that the US is one of the largest markets for Bangladeshi exports, particularly ready-made garments, and stated that it is an opportune time to negotiate a trade agreement to capitalise on trade potential and supply chain advantages.

He also expressed gratitude to the US government for reducing reciprocal tariffs on Bangladeshi products.

On his part, Paul G. Frost underscored the importance of:

  • Strengthening mutual business relations
  • Expanding entrepreneurial networks
  • Enhancing cooperation between US and Bangladeshi businesses

He also invited Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to participate in the upcoming Investment Summit in the United States, aiming to further boost trade and investment ties.
