A shocking incident has come to light involving a female student of ****, who alleges that she was lured to a private residence and assaulted by a former student of the same institution. The victim later contacted the national emergency hotline, 999, prompting police from **** to rescue her.
The victim, a member of the university’s 53rd batch, reportedly had a previous relationship with the alleged perpetrator, a former student of the 44th batch. His permanent residence is in Jamalpur’s Sarishabari area.
According to sources, the student was first taken to the university’s medical centre, where she recounted the traumatic incident to a female faculty member of her department. The faculty member, speaking on the victim’s behalf, stated that the relationship between the two students had ended some time ago. However, on Tuesday, the former student reportedly approached the victim outside her hall and engaged in unacceptable behaviour. When the victim refused to go with him to his home, she was allegedly blackmailed into compliance.
Upon arriving at the accused’s residence, the victim claims she was physically assaulted, her mouth taped shut, and hot water poured on her hands. The perpetrator then locked the room from the outside and left. In a desperate call to 999, the victim informed authorities, who promptly intervened and rescued her.

University Medical Officer Dr Tanvir Hossain confirmed that the victim had sustained burns measuring three to four centimetres on her hands, which could not be treated at the on-campus facility.
In response to the incident, **** stated: “This incident occurred off-campus. Ashulia Police informed us immediately, and members of the university’s security unit were dispatched to the scene. The victim has agreed to provide a detailed statement to the university authorities today (Wednesday).”
Authorities continue to investigate the case, while the university has pledged support to the student and cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
