Channel i is set to delight audiences with its upcoming folk music programme ‘I-Folk Fever’, featuring legendary singer Sabina Yasmin alongside a stellar lineup of both veteran and emerging artists. The series promises a vibrant celebration of Bangladesh’s rich folk music heritage, blending traditional melodies with contemporary interpretations.
According to an official statement from Channel i, the show has been designed to showcase a harmonious collaboration between two generations of performers. The programme will run for a total of 23 episodes, each highlighting different aspects of Bengali folk music.
Sabina Yasmin has already completed the recording of her episode at the Channel i studio, performing five classic folk songs. Speaking about her experience, she said:
“Folk music, particularly palli-geeti, has always been at the heart of our culture. I have never sung so many folk songs for a single programme before. Performing all five songs was a truly enjoyable experience.”
