Renowned Indian singer Sunidhi Chauhan was visibly overcome with emotion during a recent performance in Lucknow, breaking into tears before a live audience. The incident occurred after the 42-year-old vocalist experienced throat issues, making it difficult for her to sing at her usual standard.
The emotional moment took place on 7 March at the Kulbridge Resort, where Sunidhi was performing as part of her “I Am Home India Tour 2025–26”. During the concert, she candidly informed her fans about her vocal discomfort, expressing both regret and vulnerability in front of the crowd.
A video circulating on social media captures the singer, dressed in a sparkling jumpsuit, wiping away tears as she spoke to the audience:
"Today my voice is not in good shape, but I know you are with me. Oh God, this has never happened to me before."
She described the experience of struggling to sing as deeply embarrassing and apologised to her fans, saying:
"I am truly sorry. I always try to give my 100%, but unfortunately today, despite my efforts, I am unable to perform perfectly. I hope you can forgive me."
Despite her discomfort, Sunidhi continued with the concert, buoyed by the support and encouragement of the audience. Spectators responded with warmth and enthusiasm, applauding and singing along, creating an atmosphere of shared energy and compassion.
Sunidhi’s ongoing music tour began on 24 December last year in Mumbai and has since travelled across major Indian cities, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Chennai. Her performances have consistently drawn large crowds, highlighting her enduring popularity and stage presence.
The tour is scheduled to conclude with a final performance in Kolkata. According to organisers, the closing concert will take place at the Aquatica Grounds on 14 March, marking the end of a month-long musical journey across the country.
