In Gazipur, Bangladesh, police successfully recovered nineteen cattle along with a truck within just half an hour of a daring robbery, although the perpetrators managed to escape. Quick and coordinated law enforcement efforts prevented significant financial loss for the livestock owners.

According to police sources, the incident occurred on Wednesday, 11 March, at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the highway area of Valuka Thana, Mymensingh District. Unknown assailants hijacked a truck carrying nineteen cattle and restrained the driver, helper, herdsmen, and the owners, abandoning them near the Square Masterbari area.

Upon receiving the alert, Gazipur Sadar police immediately established a checkpoint on the highway. Shortly thereafter, a suspicious truck was spotted heading towards Dhaka. Despite police signals to stop, the robbers attempted to flee at high speed. Using radio communication, the night patrol team alerted additional units, enabling a coordinated pursuit.

The chase continued until the truck was stopped near the Forest Office, at around 3:10 a.m., when the thieves abandoned it and fled on foot. Police later secured the truck and all nineteen cattle, returning them safely to their owners. The truck’s registration number is Dhaka Metro-D 11-4784.

Joydebpur Thana Officer-in-Charge, Mr. Aminul Islam, stated, “Our operation to identify and apprehend the members of this gang is ongoing. The success of this recovery is a testament to the efficiency and rapid response of our police teams.”
