Popular Bangladeshi singer Salma has made a poignant return to the realm of melancholic love songs after a considerable hiatus. Nearly a month ago, she released her latest single, “Emon Bhalobasha Chaina” (“I Don’t Want Such Love”), which has already begun resonating deeply with audiences. The song’s lyrics were penned by Anurup Aich, the melody composed by Sharif Al Din, and the music arranged by Shafqat Hridoy. Following the completion of the musical work, the accompanying music video was directed by Soumitra Ghosh Imon, a prolific creator of music visuals. The track has been released under the label Sangeeta Music, receiving notable attention within days of its debut.
Reflecting on the song, Salma said:
“This folk-inspired piece captures the essence of heartbreak and emotional turmoil. It tells the story of a woman whose heart has been broken after betrayal, set against the melancholic backdrop of a late afternoon in the fading spring. A heart repeatedly hurt struggles to open up to love again – that is the core sentiment and melody of this song. Singing such a sorrowful piece after so long was deeply emotional for me, yet I had faith that it would resonate with listeners. The response so far has been encouraging, and I believe the song will continue to touch more hearts over time.”

Salma, who was the champion of the second season of the reality show “CloseUp One Tomakei Khujche”, has consistently balanced her musical career with social engagement, demonstrating a commitment beyond mere performance.
