The main road adjacent to Love Road in the Tejgaon industrial area of the capital was cleared after nearly two hours of disruption when workers from a garment factory operated by NASA Group withdrew their blockade on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, the workers vacated the road at around 12:30 pm, following which vehicular movement gradually resumed and the situation returned to normal. Authorities stated that the protestors were persuaded to leave the roadway, ending the disruption without further escalation.
The incident began at approximately 10:15 am when around 100 to 150 workers assembled on the main road near Love Road in Tejgaon Industrial Area. The workers staged a protest demanding payment of overdue wages. As they occupied the roadway, traffic movement came to a complete halt, affecting both directions of the main thoroughfare.
The blockade quickly caused congestion in surrounding routes, as vehicles were diverted or left stationary for an extended period. Long queues of vehicles formed on either side of the affected road, resulting in significant disruption to normal traffic flow within the industrial zone, which is a key commercial and manufacturing hub in the city.
Officials from Tejgaon Industrial Police Station confirmed that law enforcement personnel were deployed to the area shortly after the protest began. Police engaged with the workers to de-escalate the situation and restore traffic movement. No reports of violence or damage were recorded during the incident.
By around 12:30 pm, the workers agreed to withdraw from the road following discussions with authorities. Once the area was cleared, vehicles began moving again and traffic conditions gradually normalised.

The demonstration centred on demands related to unpaid wages, though no further operational details were disclosed by authorities at the time of clearance.
The Tejgaon industrial zone, one of the busiest manufacturing districts in the capital, frequently experiences high traffic volume due to the presence of numerous factories and commercial establishments. As a result, any disruption in this area tends to have a wider impact on surrounding road networks.
Authorities confirmed that after the workers were removed from the roadway, traffic management teams worked to disperse the accumulated congestion and restore normal flow across the affected routes.
