Mahesh Babu's Remarkable Work Ethic: 8 Hours of Shooting Without a Mobile

Published: 16 Nov 2025, 02:22 pm

In a recent interview, renowned Indian director S. S. Rajamouli shared an impressive habit of actor Mahesh Babu, which he believes everyone could learn from. This was revealed during the announcement event of Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film, Varanasi, at Ramoji Film City.

Rajamouli explained, “While Mahesh Babu’s on-screen character may exude calmness, his work ethic in real life is even more extraordinary. When he's on set or at work, he doesn't touch his mobile phone. He works for eight hours straight without once glancing at his phone. It’s only after returning home that he checks it. This habit is something we could all benefit from.”

Rajamouli went on to praise Mahesh Babu’s focus and discipline, noting that such traits are essential for overcoming any challenges in life.

The title of the much-anticipated movie Varanasi was unveiled last Saturday, and Mahesh Babu will play the character of Rudra in the film. A teaser showcasing the title was also revealed, offering a stunning visual experience blending time, geography, and spirituality. The teaser suggests the story unfolds across various eras and regions, centred around a divine atmosphere.

In addition, Rajamouli mentioned that the film would feature a groundbreaking technology – the Premium Large Scale Format – which will be shown in IMAX theatres. This promises to offer a unique visual experience for moviegoers.
